Layout and formatting

We accept documents for translation in any format - Microsoft Word text files, Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, PDF documents, TIF, JPG graphic files, etc. If possible (and at the request of the customer) we try to keep the translation format as close as possible to the original.

Format auto saving

If the document you want to be translated is in Word, Excel or PowerPoint format, and the text in it can be edited, we perform the translation in the original file - the text in the original language is simply replaced with the translation language and the formatting is automatically saved. This way of formatting is for free.

Simple formatting

If the translated document does not contain graphic inserts or any complex design then minimal formatting is required (highlighting headlines, creating automatic lists or simple tables, etc.). This type of formatting is for free as well.

Bilingual formatting

Some documents, such as agreements, contracts and annexes to them are often required to be issued in a bilingual format. The translated document has two columns of same text but in two different languages. The price for this type of formatting is 100 rubles per printed page of the original document. Work is carried out in Microsoft Word format. In some cases, when the structure of the document is simple, bilingual formatting can also be done for free.

Complex formatting

The complex formatting required when the translated document contains non-editable text in pictures, diagrams and tables that also needs to be translated. Usually we format graphic elements and pictures with non-editable text using Adobe Photoshop or other similar programs. Then they are inserted into a text file with the translated inscriptions. The price of formatting and inserting one picture (diagram, table or other) - 100 rubles and up depending on the complexity of the work.

Digitisation

Sometimes it is necessary to translate a document that exists only in printed version with non-editable text and this document contains drawings and diagrams with explanatory captions that also must be translated.

In this case, we offer digitization of the document. This concept includes document scanning and text recognition with subsequent translation and one-to-one formatting. At the same time all graphic elements are saved. Digitization is usually done using ABBYY FineReader. Digitization is evaluated as complex formatting, and costs from 100 rubles per printed page of the original document.

What programs are used for layout

Usually we typeset texts in Microsoft Word. The file with the translation can also be saved in PDF format, at the request of the customer. In some cases, the layout can be performed directly in PDF format using the Adobe Acrobat Professional program if the text in PDF document is editable. The advantage of the layout in PDF is the complete preservation of the quality of the original images without any loss in density or color reproduction, which may occur when reformatting a document from PDF to Microsoft Word. The downside of this is the impossibility or complexity for the customer to make changes in translation after formatting. Therefore, the choice of a program for layout depends on the specific situation.

Printing

We provide the customer with finished translations electronically and / or as printed documents. The black and white printing is for free. At the request of the customer, we can do a printout using color laser printer. The cost of color printing is 100 rubles per printed A4 format page, if printing a multipage document the price is 50 rubles per a printed page and up.
